Run Saved Query


The Run Saved Query action sorts records in a window based on search and sort criteria in a previously saved query operation.


  1. Make a selection in the Run a Saved Query in which window? field. This field will be grayed out unless this action is based on a Form or Browse. The choices are:

    • "Current Form or Browse Window".

    • "Another Form or Browse Window".

  2. If you selected "Another Form or Browse Window", in the Window Name field select either:

    • "Forms"

    • "Browses"

  3. Select one of the listed forms or browses.

  4. Make a selection from the When will you specify the name of the Saved Query? field. The options are:

    • "Specify Saved Query Name Now". Pre-defines the query.

    • "Prompt for Saved Query name at run-time". Allows the user to pick from a list of queries.

  5. If you selected "Specify Saved Query Name Now", select a query from the Saved Query Name field.

  6. Click Next >.

  7. Optionally modify the comment that describes the action.

  8. Click Finish.

The action will display the Select Query dialog box.
