In addition to UX components, grid components are an important part of Alpha Anywhere Web Publishing. They retrieve and display data from a variety of types of databases. They allow the user to search for, edit, insert, and delete records. You create grid components with the Grid Builder.

The Grid Fields page is where you define what fields you will use in your grid, insert special controls, and set properties for individual controls.

The Grid Update Settings page only appears if the grid is editable (updateable).
- The Search Part
The Search form allows you to find records using complete or partial values in one or more fields. The result of a search displays only the matching records in your grid. You can sort the results on any field in the grid.
- The Detail View
The Detail View form provides a single record view that allows you to read, edit, delete, and insert records. The display format will show any selection of fields, even if they are not in the grid.
