OBJECT.CHANGE_MODE Function
Syntax
Mode_Setting as C = .Change_mode()
Description
Puts a layout into chage mode.
The .CHANGE_MODE() method applies to:
- Browses (for use either the <BROWSE> pointer or the name of the browse)
- Forms (for use either the pointer or the name of the form)
The .CHANGE_MODE()puts a layout into change mode, just as if the user had done so by beginning to type into any editable field. The method returns the mode of the layout. If the command succeeded, then the return value is "CHANGE". If the command failed, perhaps because a form's "restrict-change" property was turned, on, or the form was already in enter mode, then "VIEW" or "ENTER" is returned.
Example
dim ptr as P ptr = form.load("Customer Information") ? ptr.Change_Mode() = "CHANGE"
Limitations
Desktop applications only.
