The Detail View Display Properties let you configure how the Detail View for a Grid Component is displayed, including the method (clicking a link, selecting a row, or programmatic) and the behavior for displaying the Detail View (show, toggle).

When the user opens the Detail View should the page auto-scroll to bring the Detail View into view? Only applied if the Detail View is set to display 'On Page' (rather than in a window or embedded in the Grid).

A Detail View allows you to take the row of a given field displayed in a list control and show information from other fields related to that row. For example, say you had a list of customers displayed a simple list control. Every time you highlighted a given customer in that list, the detail view would display that customers specific data (address, phone number, country, etc..). To create a Detail View you will first need to open a grid in the Grid Builder . From the Web Projects Control Panel click on the Create a new grid component button. The Select Grid Component Template dialog will open. Click the Start with a blank Grid Component radio button and click OK . This will open the Grid Builder dialog. Alternatively, you can also get to the Grid Builder from the Web Projects Control Panel by clicking on the New component or file button. The New File dialog will open, select the Web Component option and click Next> then Grid and then Next > again. This will bring you to the Select Grid Component Template and then the Grid Builder .

Specify text to appear in the window title bar. You can use HTML syntax in the title.

Specify if the Detail View should be shown on the page, or in a popup window, which can either be modal, or modeless.
Defining the Detail View

The Detail View has most of the functionality and properties characteristic of a regular grid. You therefore have many options in shaping both the appearance of the Detail View and what it is capable of doing. You can define your Detail View's fields and properties on the Detail View > Fields and Detail View > Properties pages. These pages open automatically when you select the Grid contains a Detail View checkbox on the Component Type page.

The Detail View form provides a single record view that allows you to read, edit, delete, and insert records. The display format will show any selection of fields, even if they are not in the grid.

Specify if the List has a 'Detail View' - controls on the UX that are populated with values from the current row of data in the List. The DetailView can be used to display a single record view of the current record in the List. The DetailView can also be used to edit the data in the current row in the List.
