Get 'Text' Property of Object(s)


The Get 'Text' Property of Object(s) action retrieves the 'Text' property of one or more object(s) on a form or browse.


  1. Select the window that contains the text data. There are two options:

    • "Current Form or Browse Window"

    • "Another Form or Browse Window"

  2. If you selected "Another Form or Browse Window", select an open form or browse in the Window Name list.

  3. Click to display a list of objects on the window that have the 'Text' property. Select an object and click OK to add it to the list. Click to remove the currently selected item on the list.

  4. For each object in the list, enter the name you would like to use for the variable.

  5. For each object in the list, specify the Variable scope. There are two options:

    • "Shared". Means that the variable can be used only by other scripts on the window.

    • "Global". Means that all scripts can access the variable.

  6. Click Next >.

  7. Optionally modify the comment that describes the action.

  8. Click Finish.
