Alpha Five Printer is not Installed

Description

If you try to generate reports using the Amyuni printer driver and the driver is not installed, you may receive an error message.

The Amyuni printer was distributed as part of the Alpha Anywhere in past releases. The driver was used to generate Reports. If the Amyuni printer is not installed and you attempt to create a report using the Amyuni driver, the report will fail to generate. The missing printer may manifest as an error when you try to create a Report:

In order to resolve this error, you need to change the report generation method used for your Reports to PDF Direct and then re-publish your application.

Using PDF Direct in Web/Mobile Apps

1. On the Web Projects Control Panel, open the Web Project Properties

2. Find the PDF Printing Options section on the Run-time Properties.

3. Check Use direct to PDF. This ensures all reports will use the new PDF Direct method.

4. Click OK to save your changes, test your reports, and re-publish your application. If your reports do not generate as expected using PDF Direct, report it to us.

Using PDF Direct in Desktop Apps

1. On the Control Panel, open the View menu and select Settings.

2. Navigate to System > Preferences > PDF.

3. Make sure the Value dropdown is blank or set to No.

4. Click OK to save your changes. Test your reports and redistribute your app. If your reports do not generate as expected using PDF Direct, report it to us.
