Field validation setting
Description
When a record is updated, should the Display Settings Validation Rules for a field be applied to all fields, or only the edited fields?
Discussion
The Field validation setting dictates how Validation Rules for fields are applied in a Detail View.
- Dirty Fields Only
Only dirty fields are validated.
- All Fields
All fields are validated.
A field is dirty only if the user has modified it. If validation rules require that a field is not null, applying validation rules to Dirty Fields Only will not apply validation rules to empty fields.
